Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) was organized on 4th-Oct-1967. It is a Government Sector Enterprise following the Atomic Energy Department with a particular position at the vanguard of the Nuclear Power cycle. Meeting the demand of uranium for the Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors, Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) represents a very important role in the nuclear power production of the nation. Uranium Corporation of India Limited is an ISO 14001:2004, 9001:2008, and IS 18001:2007 organization and has used the latest technologies for its process and mines plants. The Company produces 6 underground mines (Jaduguda, Bagjata, Narwapahar, Bhatin, Mohuldih, and Turamdih) and one open-pit mine named Banduhurang in the Jharkhand State. Ore generated from these mines is treated in two process mills located at Turamdih and Jaduguda.
Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) is building a new underground process plant and mine at Tummalapalle in AP (Andhra Pradesh). The Organization has taken up the development of some of its services in Jharkhand and began pre-project activities to set up distinct plants and mines in various parts of the nation namely – Lambapur in Telengana, Gogi in Karnatka, and KPM in Meghalaya.
