Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) was founded in the year 1964 leading in the original Heavy Electrical Machinery industry in Asia/India. Heavy Electricals Limited was joined with BHEL in the year 1974. In the year 1991, BHEL was turned into a Govt/public limited company. BHEL received the ability to create a type of electronic, electrical, and mechanical devices for all areas, including transportation, transmission, oil and gas, and other related manufacturers. However, the majority of the result & revenue of the business is obtained from the sale of devices for power production such as boilers, turbines, etc. As of 2017, Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) provided material that added to about fiftyfive% of the whole installed energy/power generation capacity of Asia. The organization has also provided 1000's of Electric Locomotives to Railway, as well as defence devices & tools such as the SRGM (Super Rapid Gun Mount) naval guns produced in partnership with the Defence Simulators and Ordnance Factories to the Indian Army.

An enhanced center on project performance allowed BHEL to report its highest-ever synchronization/commissioning of 15059 MW of energy factories in international & domestic markets in 2015 to 16, indicating a 59% improvement over 2014 to 15.
